I read through the negatives others have given but haven't experienced any problems myself except for one: it dispenses too much soap each time. About twice as much as I need, actually. It's hard to not think Lysol made it this way to sell more soap but it seems wasteful. Despite this, however, I continue using two in our house because it's convenient. Sure the ad that says you need this to keep from getting germs from a pump are stupid (you wash your hands after you pump - duh) but there are times when my hands are greasy or especially dirty and I'd rather not leave a trail of dirt behind on a pump dispenser. Do I NEED this product? Nope. But I'm glad to have it because it comes in handy. I can live with the soap refills costing more than pump soap but I will only give this thing an extra star if they either let me adjust the amount of soap dispensed or cut the amount down by half.

I like this concept - the cheap, home-use no-touch dispenser. Who wants to touch a soap dispenser when your hands are covered with some kind of muck? However, like so many others, I immediately recognized (and resented) Lysol's "catch." I.e. you have to pay a premium for the soap. Over time you will get soaked by this device and the expensive refills. OR SO I THOUGHT.
As one reviewer suggested, you can just drill a hole in the top and fill it with whatever soap you want to use. This is how I did it...
I went to Lowe's and bought a small rubber grommet and an appropriately sized cork (total cost: $2.00). I used an Exacto knife to carve a hole in the top of the empty refill and inserted the grommet. I got some cheap hand soap and placed the bottle upside down over the grommet. I "injected" soap by squeezing the refill slightly and releasing it (this allowed soap to enter the refill on "release" and air to enter the bottle of cheap hand soap on "squeeze"; thus the transfer of soap was quite easy). When the refill was refilled, I popped the cork into the grommet and put the refill back in the dispenser and, voila!, cheap soap! (See uploaded customer image.)
If you're a "tinkerer" of any worth, you can do this in no time.
Tips: get a grommet with a whole large enough to accept soap easily (mine is 5 16ths of an inch). Use a Sharpie to put some ink around the hole and press it onto the top of the refill (pick a spot midway between the center and the edge so you're not cutting through the thickest plastic). It will "draw" a circle. Cut a hole slightly bigger than the hole (the grommet's "slot" circumference is obviously going to be bigger than its hole). BE CAREFUL! The refill's plastic is hard. (I think using a power drill would have been easier and safer, but I cut a ragged hole without injuring myself.) Shake or rinse out any stray plastic to avoid a possible clog. Insert the grommet. It will fit, you just have to push it in. Get a bottle of soap that has a small opening that will "fit" over the grommet hole (I was lucky; the one I had on hand was perfect). You will NOT be able to pour soap into this hole! It has to be squeezed in (maybe a pump-type would work as well?).
I was not sure if the cork was necessary since I did not think that air pressure had anything to do with the dispensing of soap. At a cost of $1 I stuck one in anyway (plus, the alteration looks more "complete," almost factory installed!). When it dispensed the first couple of times, I saw that air was getting into the refill (tiny bubbles appeared around the grommet hole inside the refill). This has no effect on the functioning of the dispenser as far as I can tell.
The cheap soap I used is "thinner" than Lysol's, but it works anyway.

This is a really dumb idea. After you touch the pump, what do you do? YOU WASH YOUR HANDS. With ANTIBACTERIAL SOAP. Stop being suckers for products that you don't need that also don't bring you and pleasure except for retail therapy.

While it worked it was great, which was 3 days. The battery indicator light started flashing red so I replaced the batteries. The new batteries yielded the same result, flashing red light. I tested the batteries, they were good, tried a new lysol soap dispenser and flashing red light with no soap dispensed. So, for 5, got to use 1/2 of the cucumber soap. Big thumbs down!

I bought this product yesterday and it works great. I'm very happy with the amount dispensed, and the operation. There is no waste and it never dispenses until my hand is directly in place. I feel this is a great product.
