NEVER BUY THIS PLEASE January 3, 2009 Like many here, I was searching for the perfect moisturizer and there was so much seemingly positive marketing and info on this that I bought it. Within 24 hours of using it I was covered in the most painful red rash I have ever had in my life. I am 22, normal skin and also not allergy to ANYTHING. It was so incredibly horrible I covered my face in numbing itch cream and considered going to the hospital. It is the lavender oil according to my make up artist aunt, and supposedly most companies never use it. Philosophy...this is should come with a warning. This is an embarrassment.
OK, but too heavily perfumed January 3, 2009 I was a little disappointed with Hope in a Jar. It was OK, but not great. I don't feel it moisturized my dryish skin as well and the cliique products I typically use, and the heavy perfumey odor was a big negative for me. I like a lot of the philosophy line but I doubt I'll buy this one again.
Great Stuff December 23, 2008 I've used several Philosophy products and I'd say while this is their most popular it is with reason. This moisturizer is great. It's not amazing, but it's great. There's a difference! Makes my skin feel so soft and it radiates. I recommend it for combination skin.
Highly Overrated December 21, 2008 I wanted to wait until I finished using the jar, to give it a fair rating/review. I have combination skin and this product does a fair job. Usually, that is to be expected from your average beauty products, but this product is priced in such a way and has received so much acclaim, that one would assume that this will be better than the rest. I would say that this product is very comparable to an above average skin moisturizer that can be found in any local drug store for about $10 (i.e. O** of O***). There were no noticeable differences in my skin. The hope must still be in the jar because it did not materialize on my face.
Fantastic product December 17, 2008 this product does exactly what it is meant to do. i would recommend this to everyone who wants more beautiful skin and it will not break your face out. great product and worth the money.
